Reeling in Fun: Dorval & Chorne’s Annual Smallmouth Bass Fishing Day

Each year, the Dorval & Chorne team takes a break from the office and heads outdoors for our annual smallmouth bass fishing day — and this year’s trip didn’t disappoint!

We spent the day on the Mississippi River, where the fish were biting and the laughter was constant. Dozens of smallmouth bass were caught throughout the day. Ellen set the tone early, reeling in both the first and later the largest fish of the day.

The most memorable moment might have been when Bekah nearly landed a northern pike that had decided to make a meal of the small bass already on her line — a true double catch in the making! It got away, but it was definitely the biggest excitement of the day.

After the fishing wrapped up, everyone gathered at Dan’s house for a relaxed evening. Drinks and appetizers were followed by a friendly game of bocce ball, then a delicious fried catfish dinner and pumpkin cake for dessert. The night ended around the fire pit, complete with the dramatic burning of an old Christmas tree — adding one last spark to an already great day.

Events like these are what make our team special — a mix of hard work, camaraderie, and a shared appreciation for good fun (and good food). Here’s to another successful outing and many more to come!
